First things first, find a great real estate agent in your local market. Your realtor will provide an accurate market valuation for your home, guide you through the process, and hire a photographer to take attractive pictures to advertise online.

This goes hand in hand with the next step. Optimize the use of your closets, even producing an optical illusion that it is bigger than it really is. Use a storage space for clothes that are out of season and other items of less importance.
There are a few things that send prospective buyers running for the hills.
For example, eliminate bad odors and invest in a few air fresheners. A common turn-off for buyers is walking in and getting a nasty whiff.
Another tip is to remove personal items.
Prospective buyers want to envision themselves in the home and find this difficult when family photos are littered throughout. Box these items up and get a jump start on moving day.

At the end of the day, your home will not sell if it is not priced competitively. If you have done all the right things, but your home still has not sold, it is likely overpriced.
